Hello from ISOLATION! I thought I should be sharing a little more about each of my makes so I’m going to start with #4. I have been numbering them as I complete each one. It’s really been helping me stay motivated and excited to keep busy each day. So, here is number 4!

Pattern: New Look 6347 D
This is described as an “Easy 1 Hour” pattern however, there were a couple of things that slowed me down and to be honest, I was happy to stretch out the process. For one, I don’t have any pins (I must ask my dad to try and find some the next time he goes to the supermarket). I also decided to make my own facing instead of cutting bias binding. Additionally, I decided to french seam the whole dress to get strong and clean seams. I cut a size 16 (I’m a size 12-14) so that I could use the extra seam allowance for my french seams. I know it is a tiny bit big but I do like a looser fit and I do think it may shrink a little bit more the next time I wash it. This was my second time sewing this pattern (Isewlation make #1 was a mini version for a special gift) and it was just as easy the second time around. I love the way it flares out at the bottom and I think it’s a lot less revealing than a bias slip. I’ll definitely make it again!

Fabric: Red Clay Linen from the Fabric Store
I used their exclusive linen which now seems to have been replaced by the vintage finish linen. It’s awesome to sew with and I managed to squeeze this dress out of just over 2 meters. This linen colour also does a pretty good job hiding black underwear 👌

I hope you are all taking care, being creative and keeping connected.
I’ll see you online!
Daisy 🙂
