Getting back to Australia, and my pattern collection, was almost like a little surprise. I had forgotten about this vintage Simplicity pattern that I purchased on Etsy a couple of years ago and knew it would be the perfect match for some Liberty Tana Lawn. So here it is in all its Euro summer vintage glory, isewlation make #3!
Pattern: Simplicity 7748
So this pattern is actually for a jumpsuit but what caught my eye was the wrap top that it came with. It only uses 3 pattern pieces and is super easy to piece together. I could probably sew this up in under an hour! The only thing I did differently was cut 4 of the front piece so the front would be less see through and have nice clean edges down the front. It also means that the ties look super neat and show the print on both sides.
Fabric: Kathleen D Liberty Tana Lawn from the Fabric Store
I am a huge fan of sewing with Liberty Tana Lawn. Before it, I don’t know who I was. It is SO EASY TO SEW WITH and the prints… Don’t even get me started! When I saw this print I knew I had to pick the colourway with colours I regularly wear so D was the obvious choice. I only needed 1.5 meters to cut this out and it left minimal scraps. I cannot recommend sewing with Tana Lawn enough, it is easily my favourite fabric to sew with ever!
Can’t wait to wear this make out, but for now it’s making self isolation feel a little bit more glamorous.
