It has taken me so long to get around to sewing up a couple of LB pullovers and now I’m hooked! This pattern is a seriously easy sew and the result is soooo on trend right now in Japan. Last night I sewed up two and I already have plans for a third to be part of a matching set.
When I moved to Japan my wardrobe was really unbalanced meaning I didn’t have many handmade tops to complete my me-made looks. I guess I had gone a bit crazy on skirts and dresses… So a month or so ago I vowed to solve the problem with some great linen basics. I took a good hard look at the pieces in my wardrobe and chose linen colours that would be complimentary and pair well with all of my prints. I ended up going for Vintage Brick and Black from The Fabric Stores Exclusive Collection.
The pattern by Paper Theory is seriously fab! I was worried the neck wouldn’t suit me but now that I am wearing it I think it looks so effortlessly cool. The pattern is designed to work with both woven and knit fabrics so I’m going to have to get my hands on a cosy sweatshirting to make the perfect jumper…
I can’t wait to see how these tops look a few wears and washes when the fabric starts to relax. They are going to be my new wardrobe staples… I can just tell! BTW, my co-worker Hamed took these photos for me today at school. For his first time, he did awesomely! (not pictured here are all of the photos he took of me gaping at a strange bird haha)
